SueMarie Crawford R.P.C., M.P.C.P.
In 1993, SueMarie Crawford started a passionate journey of her own independent and informal study in Personal and Professional Development through various and numerous sources, such as, reading, attending seminars/workshops/trainings, watching speakers, videos & other professionals, as well as listening tapes/cd's on a regular and mostly daily basis, to include, as she puts it, in her "rolling university"aka car. In 1995, she graduated with a certificate of Personal Mastery from Klemmer & Associates in California. Dedicated, she continued her ongoing commitment (plus repeat of hundreds of hours, as repetition is very good tool) to this study of Personal & Professional Development....you could even say, she was on fire for it!
From 1994-1998 SueMarie conducted business presentations and facilitated numerous business trainings and knows what it takes to get results! In 1999 – 2003, she was also a volunteer support worker and on the crisis line in Trail, BC. During that time, she attended countless mental health workshops on various topics. In 2000, SueMarie subsequently decided it was time for, formal schooling with the accredited private post secondary college, Counsellor Training Institute of Canada (CTI), now called Vancouver College of Counsellor Training (VCCT). In 2003 and 2004, she achieved her two year internship at West Kootenay Boundary Addictions Services and also attended many video conference trainings during that time at Trail Regional Hospital on various mental health issues. In 2004, she had earned her Diploma in Counselling Science as a Registered Professional Counsellor (R.P.C.) followed by her Master Practitioner in Counselling Psychology (M.P.C.P.) in 2009. Most recent in 2010, she is now qualified as a Clinical Supervisor with new counseling interns.
With 13 years of formal training & 19 years including the independant informal training, and lest we forget, the lifelong experience training, SueMarie really has a heart for people overcoming life’s difficulties... and to living their...LIFE ON PURPOSE, rather than chance! Self mastery, along with healthy family dynamics/functioning, as well as, excellence in business/workplace of all manner. Her foundational principles and what she's about is getting to the Heart of the Matter for
a....Life on Purpose"...your best life, which includes identifying and rectifying the automatic thoughts & behaviors that do not serve you well & overcoming the various obstacles of life. Creating healthy relationships across all areas of life, she believes is the ultimate goal we'd all love to have and she is passionate about assisting others in creating it for themselves with themselves first & foremost, as well as with others at home, work, or life in general. In order to create this in our life, it is necessary to examine, discover and challenge our own thinking or belief system and behaviors and discover new paradigms, behaviors and skills that create healthy relationships, even with the most difficult of people, and..... even with yourself!
She states..."We, ourselves always know when we are out of balance or out of integrity with our self and it can cause all manner of strife, grief, regrets, physical and emotional health issues, stress, disease, injury and the list goes on. However, when we choose to take responsibility, exercise the courage and put forth the time and effort, we can create a.. "Life on Purpose". She can tell you that self-mastery is possible, if you commit to the work. It is rewarding and well worth the effort. in the workplace, in businesses, in marriage and family, and your world in general.... and of course health & wellness, and peace of mind!"
Changing one's own life for the better can also give others permission to do so and so on and so on. She now helps others achieve this, in private practice at Heart of the Matter Counselling, Consulting and Seminars. SueMarie believes, whole heatedly in the spirit of service and contribution and has always enjoyed many volunteer experiences and encourages others to consider making a difference for others in their own area of interest. "When you put your focus on serving and helping others, it really puts your own life issues in perspective, as well as you'll better have the eyes to see the solutions to your own problems, because you are not so intently self focused on them when your helping others," says SueMarie.
